HOWDY!
Lena Angel is a Texas-based writer whose creative nonfiction explores family, memory, resilience, and the ways intergenerational trauma shapes everyday lives.
Her work has appeared in Middle-Pause, The Belladonna Comedy, Slack Jaw, and EdSurge.
She writes to explore the quiet, every day moment that shape us, and to understand how the stories—both the ones created and the ones inherited—affect us.
Before turning her focus to writing, she spent more than two decades as a high school English teacher and instructional coach in the Houston area.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.
She is an advocate for public education and volunteers with Special PALS, a Katy-based animal rescue organization.
